Standley Lake Little League

CMP Tournament Of Champions 2025

Welcome to the return of the Coach/Machine Pitch Tournament of Champions, hosted by Standley Lake LL and North Metro LL!

We have 7 teams for 2025, 5 from SLLL and 2 from NMLL. The format is Double Elimination, beginning the week of June 9.

Colorado Little League District 2 Bylaws

All standard Little League rules apply unless defined below.

Inning End

An inning will end when 3 outs are recorded OR 5 runs are scored.

  • A player may bat twice in an inning if the lineup turns over
  • 5 runs are max! If additional runners are plated from a single play, only 5 will be applied to the score

Due to many players unable to participate from summer schedules, we do not want teams with smaller rosters to be punished and limited by the size of the lineup. We expect all available players to be in the lineup.

Defense

A player may play a single position only once (see district bylaws above).

Exceptions:

  • Catcher: Players may play multiple innings as catcher. We want to ensure that players are safe and avoid a situation of having to put a player in to play catcher that is not comfortable or prepared!
  • Extra Innings: See Extra Innings below.

Pitches & Machine

There are a maximum of 5 pitches per batter. If the final pitch is fouled, the batter gets another final pitch (until put in play or not fouled).

Coaches should plan on spending additional time setting up the machine prior to the game start to agree on the setup (even if a team plans to coach pitch). The front of the machine shall be 40-42' from the back of home plate. If an agreement cannot be made on the good operating condition of the machine at the start of the game, the machine shall not be used by either team and coaches shall pitch to players.

Umpire

Coaches will be responsible for all safe/out calls. Disputed calls that cannot be agreed upon will result in a do-over!

Extra Innings

If the game has lasted the 1 hour 30 minute duration and the game is still tied, the following Extra Innings rules shall apply:

  • Defense: The one-inning rule resets as if it is the start of a new game. A player that played pitcher in the first inning may play pitcher again in the first extra inning, but if there is a second extra inning, the player cannot play pitcher again.
  • Added Runner(s): In the first extra inning, a runner will be placed at second base to start the inning (the last player out from the prior inning). In the second extra inning, runners will start at both 2nd and 3rd. All subsequent innings will start with bases loaded.
  • Pitches: Each batter gets 3 pitches rather than 5.

What if it's still tied and it's getting too dark to play??

Coaches shall determine if it is reasonable to continue the game the following day. If not, there shall be a hit-off:

  • Each team chooses 3 batters.
  • Each batter gets 1 pitch to put into play. If it's a foul ball, they get a retry.
  • The team who puts the most balls in play wins.
  • If tied after 3 batters, an additional batter is added until the tie is broken.

The bracket below will be updated and next-game locations set as games complete! Have fun and good luck!!!!
